Drypoint engraving is an intaglio process dating from 1400. A non-acid etching technique it can also be thought of as 'scrimshaw on copper' which is how I came to this printmaking process, from over thirty years of scrimshawing or engraving ivory. Each hand-pulled print has unique characteristics and considered an individual work of art. Each can be hand water colored by the artist.
